Ag Hall of Fame open for nominations

by Wyoming Livestock Roundup

Each year, the Wyoming Livestock Roundup recognizes two Wyoming citizens or couples for their involvement in the state’s agriculture industry by inducting them into the Wyoming Agriculture Hall of Fame. Started in 1992, the Ag Hall of Fame has honored 73 Wyomingites to date.

“The Wyoming Ag Hall of Fame award was first started in 1992 to recognize the leadership in the ag community,” says Wyoming Livestock Roundup Publisher Dennis Sun. “The need is there to recognize people who have been leaders, given themselves, their time and countless resources to help the ag community in the state”

Last year’s inductees were Ron Cunningham of Lander and Jon and Dianne Kirkbride of Cheyenne.

To nominate someone for the Wyoming Agriculture Hall of Fame, please visit wylr.net and click on the Ag Hall of Fame tab, e-mail roundup@wylr.net or call the office at 307-234-2700.

Nominations must be submitted by June 1, 2024.

After all nominations are received, a panel of three judges independently rank nominees and select the year’s inductees. A belt buckle and poster are presented to the winners at the 2023 Wyoming Ag Hall of Fame Picnic, held on Aug. 14, 2024 during the Wyoming State Fair.
