by Wyoming Livestock Roundup

Laramie – The Wyoming Farm Bureau (WyFB) Foundation will host the “Plan Success” seminar on Nov. 14, prior to the organization’s annual meeting.

The event will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Laramie, and it is free and open to the public.

Kevin Spafford, founder of Legacy by Design, LLC and eLegacyConnect, is the featured speaker at the event, which focuses on the “Five Keys to Effective Succession Planning.”

“Succession is the watershed issue facing America’s family
farmers and ranchers,” comments the WyFB Foundation. “Planning for a smooth ownership
transition and preparing the next generation to lead is tough.”

“In addition, providing financial security and eliminating the estate tax can be complex and confusing. If multigenerational success is your goal, this presentation is for you,” they continue.

Attendees will learn how to plan for the next generation, good communication strategies and how to overcome obstacles through the five keys.

If participants utilize those tips presented, Spafford notes that families will help to ensure their agriculture operation remains in the family and provides financial security and career opportunities for generations to come.

Session participants will gain the confidence and preliminary tools to seek succession solutions for their families.
