Strong set of Simmentals represented in 2013 test
Set to sell on April 3, the Simmental bulls on test at Midland were a strong set of bulls with a number of prospective herd bulls.
Simmental ADG leaders
Leading the ADG for the Simmentals were three lots consigned by Raezer Ranch of Lingle.
In the top spot was lot 1014 with an ADG ratio of 126. The MR NLC Upgrade U8676 son has EPDs of BW 0.9 WW 80.6 M 24.2 YW 130.4.
Lot 1011 followed close behind with an ADG ratio of 125.21. Sired by SAV Pioneer 7301, the bull has EPDs of BW 0.8 WW 71.2 M 26.7 YW 121.
A son of TNT Top Fun R244, lot 1013 had a ratio of 122.57 and has EPDs of BW 3 WW 72.8 M 12.1 YW 113.5.
In fourth was lot 1019 with an ADG ratio of 118.62. Consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D., the bull was sired by RC Club King 040R and has EPDs of BW 4.1 WW 77.8 M 16.6 YW 121.7.
Lots 1012 and 1028 tied with an ADG ratio of 115.19.
Lot 1012 was sired by SAV Pioneer 7301 and was also consigned by Raezer Ranch of Lingle. The bull has EPDs of BW 0.8 WW 65.6 M 22.5 YW 104.7.
Elm Creek Ranch consigned lot 1028, the son of SAV 707 Rito 9969. The bull has EPDs of BW 1.6 WW 72.7 M 25.4 YW 125.8.
Simmental WDA leaders
Sundberg Farms of Mendota, Ill. consigned the top scoring WDA bull, lot 1000, which had a WDA of 3.73. The son of MR NLC Upgrade U8676 has EPDs of BW 2.5 WW 77.3 M 24.8 YW 122.6.
Lot 1019 placed second with a WDA of 3.70. The bull was sired by RC Club King 040R and consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D. He has EPDs of BW 4.1 WW 77.8 M 16.6 YW 121.7.
Moving to the third place spot was lot 1008, with a WDA of 3.56. Nelson Family Farms of Mabel, Minn. consigned the son of Ruby NFF Excalibur 002X. The bull posted EPDs of BW 2.1 WW 58.7 M 15.6 YW 80.6.
In a tie for fourth, lots 1038 and 1009 both showed a WDA of 3.55.
Lot 1038, a son of BAR CK Vision 227P was consigned by Diamond U Ranch of Addy, Wash. The bull has EPDs of BW 3.3 WW 52.6 M 18.1 YW 74.6.
Nelson Family Farms of Mabel, Minn. consigned lot 1009. The son of SS Incentive 9J17 has EPDs of BW -1.3 WW 70.6 M 25.8 YW 119.4.
Rounding out the WDA leaders for the Simmental bulls was lot 1024 with a WDA of 3.51. Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D. consigned the bull. Sired by RC Club King 040R, he has EPDs of BW 2.7 WW 78.3 M 18.6 YW 124.7.
Simmental ADG Sire Group leaders
Topping the sire groups for ADG were the three sons of RC Club King 040R, consigned by Elm Creek Ranch. Lots 1019, 1022 and 1024 posted an average ADG of 3.52.
Coming in second were lot 1000, 1002 and 1005, consigned by Sundberg Farms of Mendota, Ill. The sons of MR NLC Upgrade U8676 had an average ADG of 3.36.
Simmental WDA Sire Group leaders
Three sons of Ellingson Legacy M229 topped the Simmental sire groups in WDA, with an average of 3.57. The bulls, lots 1017, 1018 and 1024 were consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D.
Again taking second were lots 1000, 1002 and 1005. The three sons of MR NLC Upgrade U8676 were consigned by Sundberg Farms of Mendota, Ill. and had an average WDA of 3.35.
