High quality group of Salers bulls complete Midland’s 51st test

The Salers bulls were also split into two groups. Green tag bulls represent those anaimals with at or below breed average EPD for BW.

Salers Green Tag Group 1 ADG leaders

Taking the top spot for the Salers green tag group one bulls in ADG was lot 954 with an ADG ratio of 124. The bull, sired by S Marshal 223 M and consigned by Elk Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D., has EPDs of BW 0.7 WW 57 M 18 YW 107.

In second for the group was lot 927, posting an ADG ratio of 116. The SRS Wyoming 9939W son was consigned by Parke Ranch of Drummond, Mont. and has EPDs of BW 0.3 WW 40 M 24 Y 75.

Sliding into third is an OPP Custom Made Of 50K son, lot 965, consigned by Elm Creek Ranch. The bull has EPDs of BW 1.1 WW 34 M 29 YW 80.

Also consigned by Elk Creek Ranch, lot 953 posted an ADG ratio of 111, taking the fourth place slot for the group. The bull was sired by AVS Out West 210X and has EPDs of BW 1.7 WW 42 M 23 YW 80.

Salers Green Tag Group 2 ADG leaders

In the green tag group two Salers, lot 993 took the top place with an ADG ratio of 121. The GGT P Apache 155U son, consigned by MJB Ranch of Lodge Grass, Mont., has EPDs of BW 1.5 WW 47 M 19 YW 99.

Tied for second were lots 987 and 974, both with an ADG ratio of 116.

Lot 987, consigned by Rob Bodine of Voltaire, N.D., was sired by Keys Rockstar 95X and has EPDs of BW 0.8 WW 43 M 19 YW 87.

Lot 974 is a son of CCA UNO 049 and was consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, Neb. He has EPDs of BW 0.9 WW 48 M 18 YW 92.

In third for the group was lot 905, also with an ADG ratio of 116. The bull was consigned by Lightning Creek Cattle Company of Girard, Kans., sired by PS Western Addition E42 and has EPDs of BW -1.1 WW 34 M 16 YW 79.

Salers Purple Tag Group 1 ADG leaders

The purple tag salers group one was led in ADG by lot 919 with an ADG ratio of 123. The bull was consigned by Panther Country Salers of Leigh, Neb. Sired by OPP Custom Made of 50K, he has EPDs of BW 3.2 WW 47 M 21 YW 98.

Lot 961 had an ADG ratio of 122 and was consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, Neb. The bull was sired by DJF Whiskey River 9006W and has EPDs of BW 2.6 WW 57 M 22 YW 107.

In a tie for the third high spot, lots 983 and 909 had ADG ratios of 120.

Keys Rockstart 95X sired lot 982, who was consigned by Rob Bodine of Voltaire, N.D. He has EPDs of BW 3.7 WW 64 M 19 YW 103.

Lot 909 was consigned by Ahtanum Valley Salers of Yakima, Wash. The son of MAC Topeka 159T has EPDs of BW 2.1 WW 46 M 18 YW 87.

In fourth was lot 917 with an ADG ratio of 118. The bull, also consigned by Panther Country Salers, was sired by KFI Winchester 081W and has EPDs of BW 4.2 WW 68 M 19 YW 109.

Wrapping up the group with an ADG ratio of 109 was lot 932, sired by TSB Outback 132U. Consigned by Parke Ranch of Drummond, Mont., the bull has EPDs of BW 2.6 WW 48 M 20 YW 87.

Salers Purple Tag Group 2 ADG leaders

Lot 979, consigned by JWK New Design 0028, topped the purple tag group two Salers with an ADG ratio of 111. The bull was consigned by Effertz Key Ranch of Velva, N.D. and has EPDs of BW 2.2 WW 54 M 22 YW 109.

In second was lot 925 with an ADG ratio of 111. The bull was sired by AVS Out West 210X and consigned by Neben Ranch of Orlando, Fla. He has EPDs of BW 2.3 WW 67 M 18 YW 112.

Also consigned by Neben Ranch and sired by AVS Out West 210X was the third high ADG bull for the group, with a ratio of 109. Lot 926 has EPDs of BW 2.2 WW 51 M 17 YW 94.

Finishing the top four was lot 969, which posted an ADG ratio of 107. The son of GGT P BK Enforcer 300U was consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D. and has EPDs of BW 2.5 WW 51 M 10 YW 88.

Salers Green Tag Group 1 WDA leaders

Leading the green tag group one was lot 954 with an average WDA of 3.45. Sired by S Marshall 223M, the bull was consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D. and has EPDs of BW 0.7 WW 57 M 18 YW 107.

Parke Ranch of Drummond, Mont. consigned both the second and third high WDA leaders in the group. 

Lot 929 took second with an average WDA of 3.37. Sired by DJF Whiskey River 9006W, the bull has EPDs of BW 1.3 WW 43 M 23 YW 82.

Lot 927 was sired by SRS Wyoming 9939W and had an average WDA of 3.26. The bull has EPDs of BW 0.3 WW 40 M 24 YW 75.

Rounding out the category was lot 921 with an average WDA of 3.19, sired by DJF Watch Dog 9008W. The bull was consigned by McCoy Livestock of Buhl, Idaho and has EPDs of BW 1.0 WW 25 M 20 YW 62.

Salers Green Tag Group 2 WDA leaders

Of the green tag group two bulls lot 913 had the highest average WDA with 3.58. The SAV Mustang 9134 son was consigned by Ahtanum Valley Salers of Yakima, Wash. He posted EPDs of BW 0.3 WW 48 M 19 YW 93.

The consignment from MJB Ranch of Lodge Grass, Mont., lot 993, took the second position with a WDA of 3.54. A son of GGT P Apache 155U, the bull has EPDs of BW 1.5 WW 47 M 19 YW 99.

In a close third, lot 973 had a WDA of 3.53. Sired by GGT P BK Enforcer 300U and consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D., the bull has EPDs of BW 1.9 WW 51 M 30 YW 84.

Rob Bodine of Voltaire, N.D. consigned the fourth place bull in the group with lot 987. The Keys Rockstar 95X son had an average WDA of 3.49 and EPDs of BW 0.8 WW 43 M 19 YW 87.

Salers Purple Tag Group 1 WDA leaders

Lot 983 topped the purple tag group one with an average WDA of 3.65. Another Keys Rockstar 95X son consigned by Rob Bodine of Voltaire, N.D., the bull has EPDs of BW 2.1 WW 55 M 24 YW 98.

Lot 917, the KFI Winchester 081W son, placed next with an average WDA of 3.53. Consigned by Panther Country Salers of Leigh, Neb., the bull has EPDs of BW 4.2 WW 68 M 19 YW 109.

In third with a WDA of 3.40, lot 909 was consigned by Ahtanum Valley Salers of Yakima, Wash. He was sired by MAC Topeka 159T and has EPDs of BW 2.1 WW 46 M 18 YW 87.

Another son of MAC Topeka 159T consigned by Ahtanum Valley Salers of Yakima, Wash., lot 908 took the fourth spot with a WDA of 3.38. The bull has EPDs of BW 2.5 WW 50 M 15 YW 96.

Salers Purple Tag Group 2 WDA leaders

Leading the purple tag group 2 WDA leaders was lot 984 with an average WDA of 3.59. Sired by Keys Rockstar 95X and consigned by Rob Bodine of Voltaire, N.D., the bull has EPDs of BW 3.6 WW 62 M 20 YW 103.

The Effertz Key Ranch of Velva, N.D. consignment, lot 979, came in second, posting an average WDA of 3.51. Sired by JWK New Design 0028, the bull has EPDs of BW 2.2 WW 54 M 22 YW 109.

Lot 925 filled the third slot with a WDA of 3.43. Sired by AVS Out West 210X and consigned by Neben Ranch of Orlando, Fla., the bull has EPDs of BW 2.3 WW 67 M 18 YW 112.

A consignment by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D. rounded out the group. Lot 969 had an average WDA of 3.32 and is a son of GGT P BK Enforcer 300U. The bull had EPDs of BW 2.5 WW 51 M 19 YW 88.

Salers ADG Sire Group leaders

MJB Salers of Lodge Grass, Mont. consigned the top sire group, with an average ADG of 3.57. Lots 989, 991 and 993 were sired by GGT P Apache 155U.

With an average ADG of 3.54, lots 976, 977 and 981 came in second. The bulls were sired by BR Band Warrior 012 and consigned by Effertz Key Ranch of Velva, N.D.

Lot 900, 904 and 905 rounded out the sire group leaders with an average ADG of 3.49. Sired by Western Addition E42, the bulls were consigned by Lightning Creek Cattle Company of Girard, Kans. 

Salers WDA Sire Group leaders

Posting the highest average WDA of any sire group was lots 983, 984 and 987, sired by Keys Rockstar 95X. The bulls had an average WDA of 3.58 and were consigned by Rob Bodine of Voltaire, N.D.

Located in Lodge Grass, Mont. MJB Ranch consigned the second high sire group, with a WDA of 3.44. The bulls were sired by GGT P Apache 155U.

Finishing the sire group WDA leaders was lots 968, 971 and 973 with an average WDA of 3.43. Sired by GGT P BK Enforcer 300U, the bulls were consigned by Elm Creek Ranch of Hebron, N.D.
