Champion bull
Denver, Colo. – At the 2013 National Western Stock Show, Wyoming’s producers saw incredible results across the Angus, Charoloais, Hereford and Red Angus breeds.
Of particular note, Ned and Jan Ward of Ward Ranch, LLC in Sheridan brought home the title of Grand Champion Polled Hereford Bull with NJW 735 W18 Hometown 10Y.
The bull was entered in the Junior Yearling Bulls calved Jan. 1 – Feb. 28, 2011 class, handily winning. Ward’s also entered NJW 735 W18 Homegrown 8Y, which received second in the class.
“There is no other place like the National Western,” said Jan at the event. “You can say what you want about showing, but this is the place to come, do business and promote your cows.”
“I wouldn’t miss it,” she added.
After its 16-day run, the National Western Stock Show concluded on Jan. 27.
